Fabled Notre Dame Head Coach-college football legend Knute Rockne-is remembered as one of the Pioneers of modern day football. As the head coach of the University of Notre Dame in South Bend Indiana from 1918 to 1930 he set the greatest all-time winning percentage of 88.1. This mark has since been eclipsed but is still the best percentage in the history of Division I-A. During 13 years as head coach he oversaw 105 victories 12 losses 5 ties and 6 national championships including 5 undefeated seasons without a tie.
